Get To Know Me

Hi! I am Liliana (Lili) Dowd. I currently teach Environmental Science and AP Biology at Morgan County High School. However, I haven’t always been a teacher! I was a medical lab technician in the U.S. Army, a stay-at-home mom, and I worked in the aquarium industry. I earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Augusta University and a master’s degree in marine science from the University of Georgia. 

I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and spent most of my childhood there. I spent five years of my childhood living in Colombia (South America), where my family is from. I am very proud of my heritage! Since 2002, I have called Morgan County my home. 

My husband Jamie, my sons Parker (2023 graduate) and Evan (11th grade) and I love to be outdoors. Some of my other hobbies include arts, crafts, traveling, and running. 

Although I didn’t become a teacher by the traditional route, I believe this is what I was meant to do. I sincerely enjoy sharing my love of science with my students!
